Suzanne & Michael Galbraith (Gift aid no: 02213)
Dear Myra, illness confined you like a caged bird
Who perched upon the grave of dreams
That trilling voice made no sound
Your wings were clipped, feet embedded in the ground
No gliding gently on the currents, upwards to the clouds
No flights of fancy weaving amongst the sighing trees
Dear Friend, with your passing confinement ends
With wings outstretched you can fly, to catch the breeze
Floating whither where you please
To shine upon the sun, lighting up heaven above
In your own special way
Earthly anxieties have flown away
Released the free bird sings a song of freedom
Dear Myra, dip your wings to the sun's bright rays
Fly free to your place of rest
To live on in our memories
Thank God for you
